The Father of Angklung Daeng Sutigna first created the diatonic angklung in 1938. ImageBandung - Angklung sebagai salah saatu musik bambu, mendapatkan permintaan yang sangat besar dari pasar. Para pengerajin khususnya di Jawa Barat pun dituntut berbenah untuk tumbuh secara kuantitas juga kualitas.

Tidak cuma di Jawa Barat, angklung sebenarnya dikenal sejak lama di beberapa daerah di Indonesia seperti di Jawa Tengah, Jawa Timur dan Bali. Namun saat ini, Jawa Barat dinilai paling berkembang komunitas pengrajin angklungnya.

Seiring dengan permintaan yang selalu meningkat tiap tahun dari pasar domestik dan internasional, pengrajin angklung dituntut berubah menjadi sebuah industri. Selain produksi yang harus mengejar permintaan, juga perlu ada standar kualitas. Inilah yang kemudian mendorong PT Saung Angklung Udjo sebagai salah satu barometer perkembangan industri angklung di Indonesia, berusaha merangkul para pengrajin angklung khususnya dari wilayah Jawa Barat.

Kerjasama Saung Angklung Udjo dengan para pengrajin dituangkan dalam MoU yang ditandatangani di Saung Angklung Udjo, Jalan Padasuka 118, Bandung, Selasa (14/10/2008). Penandatanganan kerjasama ini disaksikan Wakil Gubernur Jabar Dede Yusuf, Deputy Menteri Bidang Pengkajian Sumber Daya UKMK I Wayan Dipta dan jajaran pejabat pemprov lainnya.

"Dalam kerjasama ini intinya, Saung Angklung Udjo akan membantu dalam hal standar mutu, pemasaran, kredit perbankan dan pelatihan manajerial. Mitra kita kemudian wajib menyetorkan produk yang sesuai standar," ujar Direktur Operasional Saung Angklung Udjo Satria Januar Akbar kepada wartawan.

Dicontohkan Satria, di beberapa daerah angklung dijual sangat murah. Jika produk Saung Angklung Udjo harganya Rp 120 ribu, di daerah lain bisa hanya Rp 45 ribu karena kurang mempertimbangkan kualitas.

"Produk mereka lebih untuk cinderamata, namun pada praktiknya sekolah-sekolah yang mengajarkan angklung memilih menggunakan produk tersebut. Hal seperti ini yang perlu dicari jalan keluarnya," lanjutnya.

Di hari yang sama penandatanganan MoU, juga digelar Temu Karya KUKM Dalam Standarisasi Mutu dan Hak Cipta Angklung, diikuti 40 mitra perajin angklung serta 15 BUMN.

Ditambahkan Satria, saat ini ada tiga negara yang menjadi tujuan ekspor terbesar Saung Angklung Udjo yakni, Korea, Singapura dan Malaysia. Nilai ekspor per tahun ke masing-masing negara secara berurutan yakni Rp 520 juta, Rp 250 juta dan Rp 75 juta. Namun demikian, nilai tersebut masih bisa ditingkatkan mengingat permintaan pasar yang sangat besar.

Dede Yusuf dalam sambutannya menyatakan, pemerintah sangat mendukung program-program pemberdayaan ekonomi kerakyatan. "Inti dari ini adalah, kegiatan seni dan budaya bisa dikembangkan menjadi kegiatan ekonomi. Nilai-nilai yang sangat baik ini harus dijaga. Kita tidak mau kemudian terjadi negara lain mengklaim apa yang kita miliki," ujarnya.

Di samping kerajinan angklung, Dede Yusuf juga berharap Saung Angklung Udjo dan para mitranya bisa mengembangkan potensi produk-produk turunan dari angklung lainnya.

Acara ini juga dimeriahkan permainan angklung oleh para penerima beasiswa dari Kementrian Luar Negeri, yang berasal dari beberapa negara seperti Jepang, India, Korea, Timor Leste, Brunei Darusalam dan lainnya. Dede Yusuf bahkan sempat mencoba bermain angklung bersama dan berbincang-bincang yang dilayani dalam bahasa Indonesia juga Sunda.(lom/lom)
