The Father of Angklung Daeng Sutigna first created the diatonic angklung in 1938. Bandung - Seniman Saung Angklung Udjo dan mahasiswa ITB akan bertolak ke Frankfurt, Jerman, untuk ikut meramaikan acara The Museumsuferfest pada 29-31 Agustus mendatang. Kesenian dari berbagai negara akan dipertunjukan dalam acara tersebut. Meski stand dan panggung milik Indonesia lokasinya tak cukup strategis, KJRI Frankfurt menargetkan sedikitnya 150 ribu pengunjung bisa menonton pertunjukan angklung khas kesenian Jabar tersebut.

Konjen RI Frankfurt Edi Setiabudi mengatakan acara The Museumsuferfest diselenggarakan setiap tahunnya di Frankfurt. Acara dengan model pasar seni rakyat tersebut akan dikuti berbagai negara, seperti China dan Indonesia. "Malah saya dengar kabar, kesenian yang dipertunjukan akan didominasi oleh China," ujarnya kepada wartawan di Saung Angklung Udjo, Jalan Padasuka, Minggu (27/7/2008).

Menurutnya untuk mengisi acara ini, pihaknya sudah mengirimkan beberapa surat kepada dinas kebudayaan dan pariwisata beberapa daerah seperti DKI Jakarta, dan Bali, namun yang merespon dengan cepat adalah Jabar.

"Makanya untuk tahun ini temanya kita kesenian Jabar yaitu angklung. Tak hanya angklung nanti juga akan ada berbagai tarian yang tak hanya dari Jabar seperti tari saman, tari merak dan lainnya," tuturnya.

Edi menambahkan pada 2007, jumlah pengunjung ke acara The Museumsuferfest mencapai 3,5 juta. Jumlah ini, menururtnya sangat fantastis jika dibandingkan dengan acara hampir serupa di negara lain. "Seperti festival kesenian Tongtong di Belanda. Selama 10 hari hanya bisa menghadirkan sekitar 150 ribu pengunjung," jelasnya.

Jika dari festival The Museumsuferfest ini, lima persennya saja atau sekitar 150 ribu pengunjung yang datang ke stand Indonesia, itu sama artinya dengan jumlah pengunjung festival Tongtong di Belanda.

Sementara itu Pimpinan Saung Angklung Udjo, Taufik Hidayat Udjo mengaku pihaknyab sudah mempersiapkan puluhan lagu untuk acara nanti. "Lagu tradisional, kontemporer, hingga kolaborasi dengan jazz. Soalnya nanti kita pun akan kolaborasi dengan Dwiki Dharmawan," jelasnya.

Menurutnya yang pergi nanti ke Jerman, tak hanya para seniman di saung Udjo tetapi juga para mahasiswa ITB.(ern/ern)
