The Father of Angklung Daeng Sutigna first created the diatonic angklung in 1938. Until now, angklung still has to face many challenges of identity to be acknowledged as one of world’s standard music instruments. ImageBandung, Kompas - Sebanyak 10.000 sivitas akademika Universitas Padjadjaran atau Unpad memainkan angklung di Kampus Unpad, Jalan Dipati Ukur, Kota Bandung, Senin (27/8). Hari itu mereka berhasil memecahkan rekor Museum Rekor Indonesia atau Muri.

Penghargaan Muri diberikan kepada Rektor Unpad Ganjar Kurnia sebagai pemrakarsa, Departemen Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata sebagai pendorong, dan Panitia Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru Unpad sebagai pelaksana.

Tak semua warga Unpad pernah memainkan angklung. Soni A Nul Haqim (39), dosen Kesejahteraan Sosial Unpad, mengajak Kepala Biro Administrasi Unpad Hendris Candra Purnama (50) yang berdiri di belakangnya melakukan tos. Keduanya sangat gembira bisa memainkan angklung dengan baik sesuai dengan aturan instruktur dari Saung Angklung Udjo.

"Saya baru pertama kali memainkan angklung," kata Hendris. Sebelum main, Hendris berpikir angklung merupakan alat musik biasa.

"Dugaan saya salah. Saya merasa sangat gembira, terharu, sekaligus bangga dan ingin ikut melestarikan angklung," katanya.

Setelah memainkan angklung, rasa capek yang dirasakannya terlupakan. "Kebersamaan ini amat mahal. Bermain bersama 10.000 orang, momen yang sulit. Ternyata kami bisa harmonis," ujar Hendris.

Bagi Soni, hari itu menjadi hari pertama ia memainkan angklung. "Sangat menyenangkan dan membanggakan. Ternyata saya bisa main angklung," katanya.

Guru besar Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi, Edeh Roletta Haroen, teringat masa kuliah. "Dulu main angklung terasa sulit, sekarang ternyata mudah. Terutama kebersamaan itu terasa sekali," tuturnya.

Dekan Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi Eky Surya Sumantri merasa nasionalismenya timbul saat main angklung, apalagi saat menyanyikan Indonesia Pusaka.

Banyak guru besar sengaja berdiri untuk mengikuti instruksi dirigen di panggung. Hari itu hampir semua orang tersenyum, begitu pula Sarimin (47), petugas keamanan listrik, yang berdiri di dekat para guru besar.

Afif Hilman (17), mahasiswa Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Unpad, yang berasal dari Padang menyatakan," Suara angklung nikmat sekali."

Menteri Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata Jero Wacik mengatakan, berdasarkan penelitian Kompas tahun 2005, sekitar 71 persen orang Indonesia bangga terhadap kebudayaan Indonesia. Saat ini sedang dikumpulkan bukti agar UNESCO memberi sertifikat bahwa angklung dari Indonesia. Oktober 2007, Indonesia mengisi Indonesian Night di Kantor Pusat UNESCO, Paris. (ynt)
