The Father of Angklung Daeng Sutigna first created the diatonic angklung in 1938. Until now, angklung still has to face many challenges of identity to be acknowledged as one of world’s standard music instruments. One major problem is that there is no firm standard yet in constructing, tuning, forming, playing, and compositing angklung. Another problem is that until today, an angklung music community as a media of education and industrialization of the angklung music hasn’t been founded yet. Through this website we would like to ask you who have a great concern to the development of angklung to pass this piece of information to the world in order to support this developing music instrument. Through this website we would like to convey an angklung-ical activity to an angklung team or community and hopefully someday the industrialization of angklung can be realized. ImagePernahkah Anda sadar atau memikirkan budaya kita perlahan-lahan mulai tercerabut, bahkan mulai lenyap dari bumi pertiwi ini? Tampaknya hal itu sedang terjadi. Sebanyak 726 bahasa daerah terancam punah. Adapun angklung yang diklaim sebagai musik Kerajaan Malaysia dengan label music bamboo malay (konon) sedang diupayakan untuk mendapat pengakuan UNESCO (Kompas, 14/11/2007).

Kalau tidak ada aral melintang, kita tidak lagi kaya akan budaya. Pasalnya, beberapa "harta karun" seperti bahasa daerah dan musik tradisional/daerah kita mulai enggan berada di bangsa ini karena penggunanya malu dan tidak menghargai. Yang melenyapkan bahasa daerah tidak lain adalah kita sendiri. Saya pernah bercakap dengan teman saya. Ia adalah orang Sunda, tetapi selalu berbahasa Betawi dengan logat Sunda, seperti menggunakan kata gue. Padahal, kita berada di Bandung. Seharusnya pendatang yang menyesuaikan berbahasa. Saya melihat bahwa paradigma berkomunikasi kita salah dan menyebabkan akulturasi bahasa kita tidak sehat.

Wacana pelestarian bahasa daerah tampaknya sudah banyak diulas. Namun, peraturan daerah mengenai bahasa daerah belum sepenuhnya diterapkan. Ada baiknya Pemerintah Provinsi Jawa Barat mewajibkan setiap institusi (negeri/swasta), saat merekrut pegawai, dalam standar penilaiannya mencantumkan syarat mampu menguasai logat bahasa Sunda, syukur-syukur mampu berbahasa Sunda dengan fasih. Itu merupakan salah satu contoh yang berbentuk aturan. Untuk yang berupa etika, kita mesti menyerahkannya kepada masing-masing individu agar menjaga dan melestarikan bahasa daerahnya.
