The Father of Angklung Daeng Sutigna first created the diatonic angklung in 1938. Until now, angklung still has to face many challenges of identity to be acknowledged as one of world’s standard music instruments. One major problem is that there is no firm standard yet in constructing, tuning, forming, playing, and compositing angklung. Another problem is that until today, an angklung music community as a media of education and industrialization of the angklung music hasn’t been founded yet. Through this website we would like to ask you who have a great concern to the development of angklung to pass this piece of information to the world in order to support this developing music instrument. Through this website we would like to convey an angklung-ical activity to an angklung team or community and hopefully someday the industrialization of angklung can be realized. BANYAK yang mempertanyakan, ketika manajemen Sari Ater Resort Hotel menampilkan kesenian angklung. Padahal, masih banyak kesenian atau acara yang dinilai lebih menarik, terutama untuk para tamu hotel. Apalagi, acara itu sengaja ditampilkan dalam rangka acara pergantian tahun 2005 ke 2006.

Namun, Direktur Operasional, Hermanni, tetap optimis, acara yang bertajuk "Menyimak dan bermain angklung bersama" akan sukses. Ia punya alasan kuat, mengingat grup yang ditampilkan sudah terkenal, yakni dari Saung Angklung Mang Ujo. Kali ini, di bawah pimpinan "si genius" Pak Daeng. Terbukti, sejak pukul 20.00 hingga pukul 22.55 WIB bertempat di Dayang Sumbi Hall, pengunjung sangat banyak.

Lagu demi lagu dimainkan, baik lagu-lagu nasional maupun lagu barat. Bahkan, dua lagu dari Queen, yakni We are The Champion dan Bohemian Rhapsody dimainkan sangat enak didengar. "Sambutan dari para tamu itu membuat saya bangga. Apalagi, mereka rata-rata pelanggan,"ujar Hermanni.

Hermanni mengungkapkan, ia sempat bertanya kepada seorang tamu yang berasal dan asli dari Bandung. Tamu itu mengaku, baru pertama kali menyaksikan grup kesenian angklung secara langsung. "Kedengarannya aneh, kok orang Jawa Barat sendiri belum pernah menyaksikan kesenian daerahnya yang begitu terkenal. Jadi, kita memang harus berani dan konsisten menampilkan acara kesenian seperti itu. Selain untuk diperkenalkan kepada orang luar, juga untuk dilestarikan,"tutur Hermanni.(Tok/Mitra Bisnis)***
